The 5th Fishtec League match was fished 9th September. The fishing leading up until now was hit and miss, it was very ‘poddy’, you could be just 10 yards away from a pod and not get anything! The weather was perfect, high cloud and minimal sunshine with a comfortable 12mph wind. It was the sort of day you know the fish will be up, but where?
Team Results from comp 5 and overall position so far:
Top team for the second time in as many comps was again Margan Fly Fishers. Margam used the hit and run tactic where sticking to one method and covering a lot of water to locate the fish. Once located they then sat on the fish building their bags consistently through the team to give them a good overall position. The top method for the day was pulling blobs and boobies on one of the Airflo Sweep fly lines. The di3 gave a great presentation in the water, letting the flies to be fished close to the surface until the weight of the head pulls the flies down. That sweeping motion seemed distributable to fish.
