Located in the beautiful wilds of Ceredigion, Aberystwyth angling association hold the fishing rights to 9 upland lakes which predominately contain wild native brown trout. Variety truly is the key here; moving from lake to lake, you can catch small vividly coloured fish of 6 to 12 oz from the banks of the peaty llyn Syfydrin one morning, then target huge sedge feeding wild trout up to 9lb in weight (yes that’s right!) from the fertile Oerfa and Rhosrhydd lakes in the evening.

Lets not forget Aber AA also has fishing rights for 16 miles of the river Rheidol – one of the most productive sea trout and salmon rivers in Mid Wales, where hard fighting double figure sewin often grace anglers nets.

We recommend you try:

Llyn Rhosrydd – Amazing evening sedge fishing in July/August for grown on browns to well over 5lb.

Llyn Glandwgan  – Classic top of the water wild trout fishing, small but free rising fish in a tranquil upland setting. Floating line and traditional wet flies. Don’t miss out on the amazing coch y bonduu beetle hatch in June.

River Rheidol – Glan yr afon estate pool. Located just outside Aberystwyth this famous sewin pool consistently produces schoolies and the odd double for most of the summer. A great stretch of river.
